High-quality sushi delivered by model train at a low price. Try the oyster and razor clam tempura!
Best of the best family owned and run Sushi train restaurant!
Ok sushi. Fun to take little kids who like trains and not picky about their sushi:)We are spoiled when it comes to sushi quality.
Great little spot, sushi train so selection is great and fast. Had a 10 minute layover on TriMet so I stopped in for a quick bite. The lady saw how much my boy loved their sushi and we had to go, so she comped him a bunch of his favorite rolls! Good people, highly recommended!
The sushi quality is pretty exceptional for the price. The only reason I cannot rate it more highly is the customer service. While the chef is quick and careful with his rolls, he is exceptionally inattentive to new customers. Many of the reviews for the restaurant recommend ordering from the menu, but that isn't typically an option since the chef keeps his head down unless he is talking to one of his regulars. While this is some of the better sushi in Portland, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way just to be ignored.
Crowded, but great sushi at a great value
decent sushi at Food Cart price. Takeo-san is the Best !
What a great find! Sushi is truly delivered by train! ðŸ˜Great selection & flavor
Good taste for great value. Ambiance is a bit grungy
This place was awesome! The sushi tasted great, the people running the place were super kind and provided excellent service. The next time I'm in Portland I will will be coming back for sure.
Fantastic value for money! Freshest ingredients. Great cuts. Hamachi collar for only $4.50! You can order sashimi and authentic ala carte pieces, even off-menu, directly from the chef or cashier/server. The train is very amusing for kids.
I love the sushi
Not usually a fan of conveyor belt sushi, but this place has a model train running around, with a limited number of plates, so you know they're fresh. Prices, for Portland, are pretty good too.
Excellent quality and variety of sushi, served at just the right temperature. The chef keeps on top of making sure there are dozens of sushi to choose from.Sushi served by a model freight train in a honey atmosphere. Great prices, generous portions, excellent staff. Thank you so much!
Sushi Takahashi is excellent on all counts ... perfectly fresh, delicious food, delightful atmosphere, and really cool, nice people running it. Their location will soon be the site of a new apartment building so tommorow night, New Year's Eve, will be the last night in their current location but keep an eye out. He promises they'll open in a new location soon. We're counting on it. I travel a lot and this is one of my favorite restaurants in the whole world.
Good sushi, great atmosphere.
Fun sushi go round with affordable prices and good sushu
The best sushi for the price. No frills just good food. Kashi the owner is very friendly, as are all who work there. My favorite is the raw razor clams he sometimes has. Other occasional special items.
Certainly the best of the local sushi trains. Super fresh.
My favorite sushi restaurant. The atmosphere is traditional and delightfully homey. The food is on a train that’s on a track that goes around the restaurant. The staff are quick and polite. Many regulars talk and chat with the friendly owners. The price can not be beat! I love unagi, and this place has the tastiest for the cheapest price. Can’t recommend enough.
awesome little sushi place with a sushi train. very tasty
Small low key place, good and affordable sushi.
Best sushi I’ve had in America hands down!
Sad that they've closed and I hope they find a new home soon. This might have been the best sushi place in Portland.
Best kept sushi secret in town. Unbelievably low priced for the quality. I can't stress that enough. Sushi can be so expensive. This place is as good as any place three times more expensive that I have been.
This place is just the best. A great chef, intimate counter setting, fantastic sushi, and a train. Unlike several conveyer belt sushi restaurants, Sushi Takahashi 2 is great quality and good portions. You can also order from a sushi menu.
My friend and I often go here for lunch. The sushi is delicious and the owners and staff are always kind, friendly, and attentive. We also love the literal sushi train. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely amazing, the best sushi that I've ever had in Portland made by a knowledgeable chef from Japan the prices are incredibly reasonable. This is $40 or $60 sushi priced at $20
Food: 3/5Service: 3/5Atmosphere: 2/5Would reccommend: Not reallyI know this place was voted the best turntable sushi in Portland, but honestly it was totally mediocre. It was interesting to be able to the the chef make the rolls, but they were pretty much sushi that you could experience anywhere. There wasnt anything special about it - the rolls were quickly formed without much attention. It was fast production, the sushi was really just OK.It wasnt just that it didnt live up to the hype - I honestly just didnt think much of the place.
Nice hole in the wall for good sushi. The main guy loves jazz as well so always good music playing
I have been coming to this establishment for 5 years now and I can say it is still my "go to" for a quick sushi fix. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly owners, EXCELLENT sushi, and funky music selection all add up to a gem of a neighborhood eatery.
Love this throwback sushi joint. Instead of a conveyer belt, the rolls are delivered by a big model train. Be sure to arrive before noon or you might not get a seat for lunch.
Best of the sushi track places I've been to in town. Easy to get down here from work at OHSU atop Marquam hill. Hours are a bit limited (didn't open until ~1155 when I was there; website said 1130 but google maps said 1145) but will definitely be back.
We've been going here for 10+ years. It's my son's favorite sushi restaurant. It's the best cheap sushi spot in town. I recommend the following. - salmon nigiri. The seared salmon nigiri is good too.- hamachi nigiri- spicy tuna handroll or regular roll- spider roll, great dealIf they're not too busy, order with the paper menu. He'll make fresh sushi for you. Most everything is good here.
Love this place. Really good quality for the price. Can't find anything better for everyday Sushi in Portland thus far. Cool atmosphere, too!
Don’t go to any other sushi place in the area. Fresh fish, very fast, small authentic feeling atmosphere, and GREAT prices. Rolls and sashimi were amazing, and super generous for the small price. As if it couldn’t get any better, we were walking out during closing and they gave us like 40 pieces of free sushi for the road. Unbelievable, I’m still in shock how great this place is.
Amazing Japanese food, Ambience is ok.
Adorable little train brings the sushi around. Food is high quality and the atmosphere is very chill. A little higher price than other train locations, but definitely worth it
I absolutely no love this place! Delicious food and a fun train to deliver it. It gets a bit busy from time to time but it's for good reason.
Salmon skin handrolls, tempura razor clams, spicy tuna yum as always
I love this place, the sushi is delicious and it reminds me of sushi restaurants I went to in Japan. The train is so cute, the staff are super friendly and in my opinion it's better then the fancy over priced sushi in town.
Small local joint that's fun to go to. It's a revolving belt sushi that has a train on it. The rice is just normal rice without any seasoning or flavor. It's interesting to watch the sushi chef make the rolls as he has molds for the rice and preslices all the fish for faster assembly. My advice is to order from the menu so you get fresh made to order items. Sometimes you don't know how long something has been on the belt.
This is the best sushi shop in Portland. It is completely unassuming. Not fancy. Just great. Sure you can pay 3 times as much at other shops and still not get the same level of quality. I eat there every other month or so, and have never been disappointed. Don't let the unassuming interior fool you. The food is pure magic.
Best conveyor belt sushi in PDX. Super tasty and great music.
My favorite lunch spot. The train always has fresh eats and the staff is super kind.
Cute place. The sushi-go-round is an actual train. The sushi tastes great for the price range.
This place is great for track sushi. It’s quick eats, reasonably priced and fresh. The track actually uses a toy electric train to pull the plates around too. Always busy but rarely a long wait.
Sushi Takahashi 2 has been my family's go to "conveyor belt" style sushi joint for years now. It's convenient to our kids' school, and they love the model train that carries the sushi plates around the bar.Sadly, their lease is not being renewed, and they will be closing at the end of December while they search for a new location. The fish is always fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere is welcoming. We'll miss today location, but will return when they do. Also, they'll be open Saturdays and Sundays during December, so go while you still can.
Some of the best, most reasonably priced sushi I've ever had. Granted I'm from the Midwest, but still. I eat here every time I'm in Portland and I'm never disappointed by the food or the friendly staff. 10/10
I just moved to the neighborhood. I’m so happy to be close to this restaurant. Good food selection. Nice and friendly employees. Great music. Great prices. Happy hour is awesome. Thank you!
